No routine? No problem!
Hey {{ subscriber.first_name }}, I hope you had a peaceful Christmas :)
I just wanted to quickly share something I've been talking about with my clients:
If you are currently away from home or hosting your family, you might not be able to do yoga. Maybe you don't have your mat or your routine is all disturbed.
But it doesn't mean your mental and physical health should be forgotten until next year!
Here are some things you can easily put into practise right now:
- Breathing exercises When you have a couple of minutes to yourself, close your eyes and follow your breath for a few moments. I like box breathing, for example: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold the breath out for 4 seconds. It doesn't have to be 4 seconds, simply keep the ratio the same.
- Journaling Write down your thoughts, your emotions, your aspirations. Things you were grateful for in 2023. Things you'd like to work on in 2024. It'll help you clear out the mental fog and start the new year with more clarity of thought. The no man's land between Christmas and New Years is the perfect time for this! If you need some prompts, have you tried my 15 daily prompts for self-care series?
- Deep relaxation I love using guided meditations (here's one I recorded earlier) for this! It's much easier to follow someone's voice and focus on letting go <3
- Mindful walking Or a digestive walk if you're still eating leftovers from Christmas 🤭 You'll feel better after moving a bit and getting some fresh air!
I hope this helps. Om, peace 🧡
