How I switched from "unfit & anxious" to "fit & healthy"
10 years ago, I made a drastic change to my life. I decided I was going to look after myself. Lose the extra weight, learn to eat better, start exercising. Treat my body and my mind better.
I really wanted to shed my previous identity (lazy, unfit and anxious Clem) and adopt a new one (fit and healthy Clem). And I knew that to change your identity, you need to change your behaviour.
So I changed my daily habits.

Left is actually partway through my fat loss but I couldn't see myself in photo before this point
For a long time I was so afraid of going back to being the person I was before that I couldn’t accept any behaviour from myself in that backwards direction.
I was extremely strict with myself. I ate extremely clean, I exercised daily, I pushed away anything that didn't serve my goals.
I felt that if I allowed myself to slip, I would instantly revert to being “lazy, unfit and anxious Clem”.
It took a long time to feel secure enough to relax a little. To feel like I really was fit and healthy.
So maybe you also need to go all in at the start, like I did. Or maybe it works better for you to take baby steps.
There’s no right or wrong answer. The way to go is the one that works for you.
But how do you figure out what works for you?
I didn't have a coach at the time so it took me years of trial and error. And I can't tell you how gratifying it is to now be able to provide the support and guidance I needed to my wonderful clients.
I have 4 coaching spaces in October.
If you want to make the most of the rest of the year and build better habits with the right kind of support, fill in this application. We'll see if we are a good fit. If I don't think we are, I will honestly tell you.
Om, peace 🧡
Clem
PS: in case you missed it, I made *an Instagram post* last week about the mental illness I was suffering from at the time and how yoga helped my heal my body and mind.
